I have a lot of dreams and aspirations and what I’m learning as I get older is that sometimes it’s impossible to make everything happen. Life is full of curve balls and learnings that you realize your dreams start to change. You start to ask yourself, “Is this what I really want?”, “Is this worth losing that for?” because the reality is that we really can’t have everything and that’s okay. If we had everything we think we wanted, life could get a little overwhelming and cluttered.
I recently made a big life decision — I’m one of those people that when I set something in my mind, it has to happen. I’m stubborn like that — and right now I’m realizing that maybe this path wasn’t the best path for me. I’m a firm believer in writing out the pros & cons of the situation, and adapting to what’s going on in your life. It’s okay to take a detour as long as you keep asking yourself what you want, what’s important so that way you always end up where you’re meant to be. Everything happens the way it’s supposed to. Try to stay on the bright side of things and take something positive out of every experience. Keep trying, keep doing, have patience, and be kind to yourself. Surround yourself with loved ones so that when you do get sidetracked you have the love and support you need to keep moving forward.
Have you ever experienced anything like this? What did you do to get back on track for your goals and aspirations?
On a side note, I can’t help but think of that Pocahontas song “Just Around the River Bend” as I’m writing this. You’ll learn that I’m a big Disney fan and a big kid at heart :). Enjoy!
