Happy Friday Everyone! I recently made this simple, quick, and healthy meal for lunch the other day and it was so good, I had ZERO leftovers!
I don’t have the exact measurements, but I basically used generous amounts of seasoning because that’s just how I personally like it. So season to taste, but be generous! 😉
Ground Turkey:
- 1 package of organic ground turkey (without antibiotics or other flavorings)
- Cumin powder
- Chili powder
- Cayenne pepper
- Garlic powder
- Herbamere (regular sea salt will do if you don’t have Herbamere)
- Ground black pepper
- Organic extra virgin olive oil
- Lightly oil a pan on medium heat.
- Add the turkey and seasonings, and break up with a spatula.
- Cook until the meat has browned, and you don’t see anymore pink. (You’ll have to stir it occasionally so it won’t burn.)
Sauteed Veggies:
- 1 Green pepper
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 Small onion
- Ground black pepper
- Herbamere (regular sea salt will do if you don’t have Herbamere)
- Organic extra virgin olive oil
- Chop all veggies. (You can really use any vegetable you like here. I just used what I had in the kitchen.)
- Lighlty oil a pan on medium heat.
- Add the chopped veggies and seasoning, to taste.
- Stir occasionally and cook until the veggies have softened slightly. (Note: You don’t want to overcook the vegetables because the longer you cook them, the less nutrients will be available.)
Ground Turkey Romaine Wraps:
- Lay out long pieces of romaine leaves on a plate.
- Add a spatula-full of cooked ground turkey.
- Add a spatula-full of lightly sauteed veggies.
- Optional: Add an extremely light layer of herbamere to give it that extra taste.
Voila! Bon appetit!
This recipe only took me about 20 minutes to prepare and make. It could feed about 3 people, without leftovers. It’s a simple, clean recipe, and the romaine leaves add a nice crunch.
Let me know what you think when you try it!
