Thanksgiving is a reminder for us to come together and give thanks for all that we have to be grateful for in our lives. Honestly, I feel it could also be a reminder for us to give thanks on a daily basis.
Throughout the day, I make sure that I say “thank you” as many times as I possibly can. Whether it’s out loud or in my head, I make sure that I’m putting it out there in the universe. This practice is especially helpful when I’m having a bad day or I’m not in the greatest of moods. If I say “thank you” over and over again in my head, I start to feel better. Then I start to think about all that I’m grateful for like my family and loved ones, my health, my education, my personal growth, and so on. It makes me realize that my bad mood doesn’t matter because look at all of these wonderful things I have to be grateful for. It’s a very grounding practice that keeps me smiling throughout most days and it also encourages empathy and kindness towards others because you want them to feel grateful too.
Spreading kindness, gratitude, and love is extremely fulfilling. It’s a special kind of feeling to know that no matter where you are in your life, that it’s all going to be okay because of all the wonderful things you have going for you.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts with you.
